BATS Wireless and Aviat Networks form High-Capacity Wireless Broadband Solutions Partnership for the Energy Market

Companies will Market Stabilized Antenna Tracking Systems for FPSOs, Other Offshore Communications Applications

INDIANAPOLIS - BATS Wireless (BATS) and Aviat Networks (NASDAQ: AVNW) have formed a partnership to market stabilized antenna tracking systems. The BATS systems, when coupled with Aviat's industry-leading microwave radios, deliver ultra high-capacity connectivity for both mobile and nomadic vehicles and vessels.

Ideal for the unique demands of the energy market, the joint solution will provide the flexibility needed for nomadic, offshore corporate networks. It will deliver a wealth of cutting-edge wireless communications and data opportunities to floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSO), FSO and drillship operators and will enable end-users access to faster, more adaptive networks for production, voice, video and crew comfort solutions. BATS' antenna systems provide connect and track technology, allowing for the dynamic connection and continual movement of stabilized, high-throughput, point-to-point (PTP) microwave communications.

"Together with BATS we have built an integrated system that we believe offers the best solution for secure and highly reliable communications to moving platforms such as FPSOs," says Brian Jakins, Aviat Networks Vice President of Sales Services, Africa. "We are delighted this partnership with BATS has already borne fruit and look forward to building on these successes."

"We are pleased to be working with Aviat on delivering dynamic, high-capacity BATS systems to operators around the world," says Phillip Cramer, VP Sales Marketing, BATS. "We are confident BATS and Aviat will be able to provide a flexible solution that meets the unique network needs of each Aviat customer. Our partnership is delivering a new choice for the Energy market; allowing organizations to enjoy the same flexibility, reliability, and security offshore as they do for their fixed microwave networks on land."
