BAE Systems Announces New Appointment to Asset Management Trading and Services Business

BAE Systems announces the appointment of Paul Tattersall as Vice President Trading and Services of its Asset Management business.

Asset Management is responsible for the management of the regional aircraft lease portfolio of BAE Systems and the securitisation Systems 2001 Asset Trust, along with management of an Airbus portfolio on behalf of Air 2(US).

Since its formation in 1993 Asset Management has created an unmatched team with the skills and business tools required to provide world-class lease portfolio management and re-marketing services with full service aircraft and engine asset management capability.

During its 14-year history the Asset Management team has secured more than 1,400 transactions in the commercial aviation market worldwide, worth in excess of $2.6 billion. This equates to an average of two transactions a week over this period. In addition, the team has managed the customisation and re-delivery of around 700 aircraft.

Building on this outstanding track record, Mr Tattersall's remit is to further develop the third-party remarketing and lease services business that has successfully been built up over time.

Announcing this new appointment today, Paul Stirling, Senior Vice President Asset Management said: " We are delighted to welcome Paul Tattersall to head up our third party remarketing and lease management business. This is a business that we have grown considerably and with his understanding of the wide range of experience and capabilities that Asset Management can offer, Paul will be well placed to lead the development of this important aspect of our business."

Asset Management is now a significant player in mainstream aircraft remarketing and lease management for third party clients in the financial sector. Employing a team of some 100 people in Europe, USA and Asia, Asset Management covers all aspects ranging from marketing, lease management, asset administration, advisory, technical and aircraft financing services to management of securitisation structures.

Aircraft types successfully remarketed, managed or advised upon include the Airbus A320 family, Airbus A300-600s, A330s, A340s, Avro RJs, Bombardier CRJ-200s, Boeing 737s, Boeing 757s, Boeing 777s and Fokker 100s.

Mr Tattersall has a lifetime's experience in aviation and was most recently Vice President Sales and Marketing with Macquarie Aviation Capital in Dublin where he was engaged on engine leasing on mainstream aircraft types. He has also carried out wide ranging aviation consultancy tasks and was previously Vice President Sales and Marketing for BAE Systems Asset Management.
