Axsun Introduces Family of Advanced Tunable Components at ECOC 2007

BILLERICA, Mass., Sept. 16 / / -- Axsun Technologies Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced photonic components and subsystems, today announced a family of Tunable Filter products. Based on Axsun Technologies' industry-leading optical integration platform, Axsun Tunable Filters offer the industry's highest resolution tunable filter performance in a compact footprint, enabling optical subsystem OEMs to integrate high resolution filtering into compact next-generation optical modules.
"Tunable filters are a key building block for reconfigurable optical network elements, and are also experiencing strong demand from fiber bragg grating based optical sensing, and test and measurement applications," said Dale Flanders, President and CEO of Axsun "These tunable components are a logical extension of Axsun's dynamic optical module products."
Axsun's Tunable Components provide high-resolution tunable filter capabilities, with more integrated functionality in compact industry-standard packages. Because Axsun Tunable Filters are based on the same technology used in AXSUN's Telcordia-qualified optical monitor products, customers are assured of telecom grade reliability, backed by more than 100 Million field device hours.

Axsun is currently shipping Tunable Filters with component evaluation boards and software to several customers.
