DUBLIN, Ohio- Molly Hemmeter has been named vice president of marketing for Ashland Performance Materials, a division of Ashland Inc. (NYSE: ASH). Hemmeter will report to Peter H. Rijneveldshoek, senior vice president, Performance Materials, who made the announcement.
Hemmeter will lead the Marketing and Business Development department for Performance Materials and will work closely with Ashland's Global Technology group. In this role, she will be responsible for evaluating new market opportunities as well as business development and licensing options for the three Performance Materials businesses: Casting Solutions, Composite Polymers and Specialty Polymers and Adhesives.
"Ashland's Performance Materials business is now structured for the kind of significant growth made possible through sound marketing strategies. Molly brings strong leadership skills and experience to focus us on the right market segments for developing new products and services," Rijneveldshoek said. "Molly will be instrumental in helping us accelerate the growth of our Performance Materials division. We're excited to have her on board."
Hemmeter comes to Ashland from Siterra Corporation, an enterprise software company, where she served as vice president of strategy and marketing. She also has worked for Bausch & Lomb as director of global marketing for Revo Sunglasses.
A native of Fort Thomas, Ky., Hemmeter received a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville and a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
