American Packaging Corporation Receives Award from the Iowa- Illinois Safety Council
ROCHESTER, NY – American Packaging Corporation Flexographic Printing Laminating facility located in Story City Iowa was awarded a Gold Incident Rate Excellence Award last month from the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council. The award was presented for outstanding achievement in accident prevention during the 2012 calendar year.
To qualify for this award, businesses had to demonstrate an incident rate lower than the national average for their specific industry. As a recipient of a Gold Award, American Packaging Corporation achieved an incident rate of less than 25% of the National Average for their North American industry Classification System category.
American Packaging Corporation Iowa facility earned STAR designation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as part of the agency's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) in 2009. By remaining dedicated to safety, the facility has been able to maintain its VPP-STAR status.
“In 2012, the Iowa facility achieved 0% TCIR and DART rates with over 357,000 manned hours worked. This would not be possible without the efforts of each and every employee focused on safety. We continue to improve each year in safety, quality and productivity due to the dedication and commitment of our employees” said Ray Graham, Operations Manager for the Iowa facility.
