Press release date: April 20, 2007

HOLDREGE, Neb. - Allmand Maxi-Lite(TM) 15330 and 20330 portable light towers are designed with 15- and 20-kilowatt AVR regulated generators. The 15330 and 20330 deliver enough energy for temporary work trailers, pumps or additional lighting and power a variety of auxiliary equipment.

The 15330 and 20330 feature a new galvanized steel tower, which provides superior durability and corrosion protection. Additionally, if a galvanized surface is scratched, the coating will expand to protect the damaged area from corrosion. Featuring Allmand's exclusive SHO lighting system, the Maxi-Lite models generate up to 50-percent more lumens per fixture than competitive light towers. Providing up to 7,500 watts, the 15330 and 20330 are available with 4 or 6 SHO fixtures carrying metal-halide or high-pressure sodium lights. An optional Saf-T-Visor(TM) attachment reflects previously wasted light directly onto the work site. Rotating 360 degrees, the 15330 and 20330 towers adjust easily from the ground to meet the needs of virtually any application.

Powered by an 1,800-rpm, 34-horsepower Isuzu liquid-cooled diesel engine, the Maxi-Lite models feature a glow plug cold starting system that brings the intake air up to the temperature necessary to initiate combustion. In addition, the light towers' electrical systems feature a "componentized" ballast assembly that is easily accessible for service. A removable 50-gallon polyethylene fuel tank allows up to 100 hours of continuous operation, while a convenient 4-inch oversized filler neck provides for easy fueling. The models' heavy-duty 10-gauge side panels and a 12-gauge hood, enhance the strength and durability of the units.

A 4-point outrigger system with center-mounted tower assembly delivers stable operation in wind gusts up to 65 mph. Furthermore, the models' outriggers and tower support feature a captive latch, eliminating the potential for lost pins. An optional, bi-directional automatic cable reel distributes and retracts electrical cable when the tower is raised and lowered, preventing tangling or breaking.

Maxi-Lite models can be transported with Allmand's durable SHO lamp fixtures installed, minimizing set-up time by reducing damage to fixtures that commonly occurs during travel or lamp removal/replacement. Optional inside lamp storage provides better security of the fixtures when the lighting system is not in use. Other options include sound attenuation, cushionmounted light fixtures, an electric winch and Allmand's exclusive LSC100 automatic light sequence commander.
