RADNOR, PA - Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced that David Shedd has been named president of the Airgas West region, reporting to Max Hooper, Airgas Western Division president. Shedd replaces Samuel Thompson, who left Airgas to pursue other interests.

Shedd's diverse career spans more than 25 years. After working for several companies in Europe, he joined TRW in 1990 working in the company's finance and strategic planning group. In 1994, Shedd joined Oldcastle Precast, an industrial infrastructure company, where he held various positions with increasing responsibility, including vice president of corporate development, president of the company's telecommunications group, president of the national manufacturing division, and president of the central region. Shedd resigned from Oldcastle Precast in 2010 to form a consulting firm and publish two books on business leadership. "David has a solid history of business leadership success," said Hooper. "His focus on sales, customer service, and safety is well-suited to our West region's goals. David is a great addition and I look forward to working with him to grow our business in this region."
