Actel Names New Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Former Cypress Executive Will Lead Company's Low-Power Sales Initiatives Worldwide

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., October 22, 2007 - Arming its sales force with the seasoned leadership required to drive demand for its award-winning low-power technologies, Actel today announced it has named Jay Legenhausen as its new senior vice president of worldwide sales. The 17-year veteran will lead Actel's growth initiatives for its industry-leading, low-power field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and programmable system chip (PSC) solutions, accelerating the deployment of these products into existing and emerging high-volume markets.

Legenhausen comes to Actel from Cypress Semiconductor, where he rapidly rose through the ranks from applications engineer to sales manager and, most recently, to vice president of sales focused on the Americas. As vice president of sales, he managed a team of over 200 people and achieved annual net sales of $300 million. Under Legenhausen's guidance, the Cypress sales team achieved growth that outpaced the market, increasing design wins and improving profitability. Legenhausen also has extensive experience in developing and managing strategic customer relationships.

"Actel's award-winning product offerings, such as the ultra low-power IGLOO FPGAs and Actel Fusion PSCs for power management, have positioned the company for rapid growth in the coming months. Jay's demonstrated success in sales management will ensure that we fully maximize all growth opportunities across the globe," said John East, chief executive officer at Actel.

Legenhausen holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Rutgers University, a master's degree in engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in business from New York University.
