During visit to U.S., Madhulika Prakash, deputy director general for Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), met with S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI President and CEO, and other ANSI staff to discuss areas of cooperation between ANSI and BIS. As peer national standards bodies, partnership between ANSI and BIS has continued to grow since initial signing of MoU in 2006. In 2007, ANSI and BIS demonstrated further commitment to public-private partnerships by signing tri-partite MoU between ANSI, BIS, and CII.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) was pleased to host Madhulika Prakash, deputy director general (technical) for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), during her recent visit to the United States on June 3, 2009.
During her brief visit, Ms. Prakash met with S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO, and other ANSI staff to discuss areas of cooperation between ANSI and BIS.
As peer national standards bodies, the partnership between ANSI and BIS has continued to grow since the initial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2006. In 2007, ANSI and BIS demonstrated a further commitment to the importance of public-private partnerships by signing a tri-partite MoU between ANSI, BIS, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). BIS has frequently partnered with ANSI to organize initiatives in India, including the September 2008 workshop Leveraging the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade Agreement, and the recently launched U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP).
