The award recognizes individuals who have advanced the interest of the electroindustry through active and sustained involvement in NEMA activities.

Mr. Pauley began his tenure as vice chairman of the ANSI Board of Directors in January 2007. He is the vice president of industry and government relations for Schneider Electric/Square D Company, responsible for directing company activities in all facets of industry standards, both domestic and international. In this role Mr. Pauley is also responsible for the conformity assessment strategy and implementation associated with company products, as well as company positions on policy issues with federal, state, and local governments.

Prior to joining Square D Company, Mr. Pauley was self-employed as an electrical contractor, as well as an electrician in the residential and commercial construction areas.

Mr. Pauley has been involved in standards activities for more than 20 years. In addition to his work with ANSI and NEMA, he has served in various capacities with a number of other national and international organizations, including the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). He currently serves as the chair of NEMA's High Performance Building Council, and has participated for many years in NEMA's committees for Codes and Standards and Standards and Conformity Assessment Policy.

In addition to his extensive involvement in standardization activities, Mr. Pauley has authored multiple papers for the electrical industry, including "The Electrical Safety System in the United States" and "North American Codes and Standards: A Global Challenge."

ANSI would like to recognize Mr. Pauley for this great achievement, one of many in his long career in the electrical industry.
