AMCA International Certified Ratings Program Agent, AFMA TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD. (AFMA) Laboratory is Accredited
Arlington Heights, IL USA-The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA), recently licensed and accredited Singapore based AFMA Technologies PTE LTD. (AFMA) laboratory on July 11, 2008. The official grand opening and signing of the license agreement will take place in Singapore on August 6, 2008, at the AFMA PTE LTD. laboratory by AMCA Executive Director, Barbara Morrison and AFMA General Manager, Mdm. Goh Swee Lee
Previously on September 11, 2007, both AMCA and AFMA had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a collaborative venture, where AFMA acted as AMCA's authorized Certified Ratings Program agent in Singapore. This agreement was generated by AMCA International's continued efforts to expand the Certified Ratings Program in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and India. Advancing the use of identical procedures for product certification throughout the world, while providing simplification, standardization, and cost reduction.
AFMA Technologies role as a newly established AMCA International Independent Accredited Testing Laboratory in Singapore will provide a platform for the HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) industry on air system related product certification specifically for air performance and sound ratings. AFMA's responsibilities are to include; administering the AMCA International Certified Ratings Program (CRP) and testing related air system equipment. AFMA will continue to act as AMCA International's authorized CRP agent for the regions of South East Asia, Middle East and India.
The AFMA Testing laboratory is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment to perform air and sound tests in accordance with AMCA International's test standards and comply with other international standards. Additionally, the Singapore laboratory provides AFMA's capability to act as third party verification for product testing in the HVAC industry; testing capacities will range from air volume of 650 cmh to 140,000 cmh.
Going forward, AFMA plans to participate in green building requirements, utilizing the facilities for the verification of energy efficiency for ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. This will enhance the requirements of minimum environmental sustainability standards, ensuring the environmental quality and comfort is not compromised.
Both AMCA International and AFMA, wholeheartedly agree to provide mutual assistance to the other for the benefit of the licensees, manufacturers, and the general public. The outcome will undoubtedly be successful.
