A&WMA announces source review workshop.

August 1, 2008 - The A&WMA will offer its workshop, Clearing the Air on NSR, September 18-19, in Orlando, FL. It will discuss the regulatory requirements for the New Source Review Rule for fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) issued by the EPA in May 2008, information relevant to a 2007 U.S. Supreme Court decision, and key provisions to the New Source Review regulations. Workshop leaders will review requirements of the current NSR program and focus on expected changes.

Pittsburgh, PA (July 31, 2008) The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) will offer its industry-leading workshop, "Clearing the Air on NSR," September 18 -19, in Orlando, FL.

This workshop will discuss the regulatory requirements for the New Source Review (NSR) Rule for fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) issued by the Environmental Protection Agency in May 2008, information relevant to the U.S. Supreme Court's 2007 decision in Environmental Defense et al vs. Duke Energy Corporation, and key provisions to the New Source Review regulations.

"'Clearing the Air on NSR' provides a timely opportunity for participants to access the most current information on NSR regulatory updates," said Adrianne Carolla, A&WMA Executive Director. "This workshop is taught by industry leading instructors and is the premier event for information on this topic."

Workshop leaders will review requirements of the current NSR program and focus on expected changes, including: how and when new requirements will apply throughout the United States; conflicting court opinions and their impact on operations; the status of EPA's NSR enforcement initiative; and topics related to facility renovation and new construction.

Workshop instructors include Gary D. McCutchen, Principal, RTP Environmental Assoc., Inc.; Kenneth N. Weiss, Principal and Global Air Practice Leader, ERM; Jay Hofmann, President and CEO, Trinity Consultants; and John Paul, Administrator, Regional Air Pollution Control Agency and New Source Review Committee Chairman, National Association of Clean Air Agencies.
