FileMaker Solutions for Improving K-12 Academic Performance Featured at 2007 Technology + Learning Conference

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 17 - (Technology + Learning Conference) - The role of FileMaker Pro database solutions for improving K-12 academic performance and streamlining data collection will be featured at the National School Boards Association's Technology + Learning Conference, October 17-19, 2007. FileMaker, Inc. representatives will be showcasing the new FileMaker 9 product line - which enables schools to connect to external SQL data sources - in Booth #651. Joining FileMaker will be Keystone IEP, Inc., a key provider of FileMaker solutions for tracking student information, creating Independent Education Plans (IEPs), and managing school lunch programs.

On Thursday, October 18, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the Bayou A presentation room, Anthony Dragona, business administrator, with Union City Board of Education in Union City, NJ, will present a case study titled "The Union City School Experience: Dollars, Teachers, and Data." Mr. Dragona's presentation will explain how his school district - comprising 12 schools, 1,500 faculty and 10,000 students - implemented database technology to help meet and exceed student performance goals. Dragona will be joined by Grace Poli, middle school media specialist, Jose Marti School, Union City Schools. She will examine how the database technology that Mr. Dragona describes is applied inside the classroom to improve academic performance.
