MORRISTOWN, N.J., Feb. 23, 2006 -- Magla Products, LLC has signed a licensing agreement with the American Red Cross to market a complete line of disposable medical exam gloves under the American Red Cross brand name. The initial product line will consist of disposable latex, powder-free latex, Nyplex(R), and Nitrile gloves. Each type of glove will be available in a 10ct bag as well as both 40ct and 80ct dispenser boxes.
The agreement brings together Magla Products, one of the country's most innovative manufacturers of home, garden and work gloves and cleaning products, and the American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
"We are excited to have found such an excellent partner in which to brand our exam gloves," said Jordan Glatt, Magla Products President. "The Red Cross name fits perfectly with our corporate goals of marrying each of our product lines with the top name in each of the categories that we are involved with. The added bonus of having a portion of the sale of each package going directly to benefit the efforts of the American Red Cross is what makes this arrangement so special."
"While the American Red Cross provides safety and security through first aid and lifesaving training, Magla fills a need for top-quality, dependable hand protection. A partnership between our organizations is a perfect fit," said Kathleen Loehr, senior vice president for development at the American Red Cross.
The packages of gloves will be sold to all classes of trade and be available for shipment starting in March of 2006. All American Red Cross medical exam gloves are lot controlled and meet the ASTM standards for quality.
The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors - across the street, across the country and across the world - in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new - the nearly 1 million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. The American Red Cross is the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work.
Magla Products, the leading manufacturer and marketer of branded hand protection, has several successful programs in place.
