GAO FiberOptics Inc.
601 Milner Avenue. 2nd floor
Toronto, Canada

Press release date: July 18, 2012

Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is offering its 16 slot media converter chassis which accepts 16 media converter cards within a rack-mountable chassis that is supplied with unified power. It is an ideal solution for the continuous development of networks.

This 16-slot media converter chassis, model C0340002, features over voltage, over current and short circuit protection. It reduces links, simplifies structure and eases management and maintenance. It allows hot swapping of media converters. 10/100M and 10/100/1000M converter cards can be plugged into it. Every 10/100M converter card occupies one slot, every 10/100/1000M Converter Card occupies two slots.

This 16 slot media converter chassis can be powered by single power or dual power to meet the user's application requirements. If a dual power supply is used, the load of each power supply is reduced and the life of the power supply is extended. If one of the power supply faults, the other one can work independently thus enhancing the reliability of the rack. In addition, it has an LED status panel for slot and fan power status indication and features a 19-inch standard design to save expensive data centre space.

This 16 slot media converter chassis belongs to GAO's family of Media Converters. This line has another three categories which contain lots of products such as 1000M Dual Port Media Converter which takes advantage of intelligent connection technology to provide auto-negotiation thereby eliminating the need to manually configure or monitor settings, 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX Media Converter with LFP Function which has the ability to support distances of up to 2 kilometers for multi-mode fiber and up to 120 kilometers for long-haul single mode fiber between a LAN switch, file server and another networking device and 1000M Fiber Optic Network Interface Card which is designed to operate at 1000 Mbps and provides up to 2000 Mbps full-duplex bandwidth capacity to support high-end servers.
