AMO Research Awards Recognize Industrial Energy Efficiency Projects

A few years ago some employees from the U.S. Dept. of Energy's (DOE) Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) were looking for a way to reward college students, both graduate and undergrad, who were studying at universities that had Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs). IACs, of which there are 24 in the U.S., are where engineering students receive hands-on training and real-world experience in energy engineering and management, and often head right from school into engineering jobs at major companies. They're an extension of the training students get from their regular engineering and energy programs on campus.
