IPC Awards Hunter Technology with QML regarding 2 standards.

IPC's Validation Services Program awarded IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Hunter Technology Corporation. Its facility successfully completed audit based on 2 IPC standards: Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies (IPC J-STD-001) and Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (IPC-A-610). Hunter Technology met or exceeded requirements for electronics industry's most rigorous classification, Class 3. Read More

Blakey, Department of Transportation Inspector General's report on issues surrounding Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast system fails to state the obvious, that the infrastructure necessary to implement ADS-B is on time, on budget, and on the job. It is imperative that to improve air transportation system and to enhance safety for future generations, aviation industry, operators, and government must do their part to make NextGen a success. Developed by North American Die Casting Association (NADCA), 2014 Election Resource Center aims to help members and their employees become involved this campaign season. The next Congress, which comes to power in January 2015, will decide future of tax provisions such as R&D Tax Credit and Bonus Depreciation, decide future of EPA greenhouse gas (GHG) standards, and overhaul NLRB. EPA Honors Manufacturers with Award for CHP system efficiencies.

U.S. EPA recognized 3 industrial facilities – Eastman Chemical, Janssen R&D, and Merck – with ENERGY STAR Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Award in recognition of their highly efficient CHP systems. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy said these companies are "leading by example" and noted that their resulting carbon pollution reduction equates to generation of electricity used by 63,000+ homes. CHP systems used by winners achieve operating efficiencies from 62%–78%. Read More

NREL's Software Tool can help increase wind farm efficiency.

NREL's Simulator for Wind Farm Applications (SOWFA) can calculate how undulating ground, whipping blades, surface temperatures, and other variables alter air flow and energy production at wind farms. In turn, this lets developers improve performance for entire wind farm. Solution simulates range of scales, from regional weather patterns down to space between turbines and even movement of electrons, to provide complete picture of active plant and collective effects.
