IPC names John Hasselmann as VP of Government Relations.

February 22, 2013

In his role as vice president of government relations, John Hasselmann will be responsible for development and implementation of organization's global advocacy efforts and policy agenda. He will work closely with IPC’s Government Relations Steering Committee, and IPC Washington, D.C. office staff, to identify issues and other opportunities where IPC can demonstrate its global leadership in government relations and public policy. Hasselmann will start his new position on March 4, 2013. Read More

Election Results reveal 2013 AIA Board of Directors.

Election results for 2013 AIA Board of Directors were announced during AIA Business Conference in Orlando, FL. Following have been re-elected to 2-year terms: John Jennings, Todd Miller, Keith Reuben, and Edward Roney. Steve Wardell was appointed by board to remaining year left in Phil Arsenault's term. Other 2013 AIA Board members include Jeff Burnstein, George Chamberlain, Michael Cyros, Rusty Ponce de Leon, Steve Mott, and Kyle Voosen. Read More

Dates, Location, Theme Announced for SPE's thirteenth ACCE.

Organizing committee for SPE Automotive Composites Conference and Exhibition (ACCE) announced that this year's show will take place September 11–13, 2013 and feature theme of Composites: Lightweighting the Cars of Tomorrow. Due to attendance growth, this even will be hosted in new venue: The Diamond Center, part of Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI, USA. SPE has also issued its annual Call for Papers, with respective deadlines of March 29 and May 31 for abstracts and full papers. Read More

Fifteenth-annual SPE® TPO Automotive Engineered Polyolefins Conference, the world’s leading automotive engineered-polyolefins forum, returns to Troy Marriott in the Detroit suburbs from October 6-9, 2013. This year's theme is TPOs: Driving Value, Light Weight, and Innovative Automotive Solutions. ANSI to offer course on American National Standards.

ANSI has added course 287, The American Way: The American National Standard Development Process, to its 2013 education and training course offerings. Scheduled for March 27, class takes in-depth look at ANSI Essential Requirements within context of American National Standard process. It is designed for staff who will implement ANS process and for those who need to understand specific and detailed procedures related to ANS development, maintaining accreditation as ASD, and ANSI audit process. ANSI Takes Part in Moscow Meeting on technical standards.

February 21, 2013

ANSI took part in meeting of Russian and U.S. experts on international trade hosted by Moscow's World Trade Center. Attended by number of U.S. officials and high-ranking Russian representatives, meeting included discussion of methods to promote future U.S.-Russian trade, including cooperation in areas of technical standards and compliance assurance. One suggestion included launching standards exchange event to gain better knowledge of each side's approach to standards development. Read More

IPC Lauds 2 Long-Time Volunteers with Hall of Fame award.

February 21, 2013

In recognition of extraordinary contributions to IPC and electronic interconnect industry, Ray Prasad and Lionel Fullwood were honored with IPC Raymond E. Pritchard Hall of Fame Award at IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego. Ray Prasad started working with IPC in 1981, and Lionel Fullwood began his long-standing relationship with IPC back in 1964. Hall of Fame Award represents IPC's highest level of volunteer recognition. Read More
