Exhibit Space Sales are Strong for World of Asphalt, AGG1 2013.

With ~11 months until opening day, exhibit space sales for co-located 2013 World of Asphalt and AGG1 expositions are 15% ahead of 2012 show for same time in show cycle. Companies will display new equipment, products, and technologies for aggregates, asphalt, pavement maintenance, and traffic safety sectors. Both events will be held March 19-21 in San Antonio, TX. According to Show Manager Rich Prausa, feedback from exhibitors and partner associations "has been overwhelmingly positive." Read More

EPA is awarding $2.7 million to revitalize urban waters.

EPA is awarding $2.7 million to 46 organizations in 32 states and Puerto Rico to help restore urban waters, support community revitalization, and protect Americans' health. EPA's Urban Waters program funding supports communities' efforts to access, improve, and benefit from their urban waters and surrounding land. Recipients will promote restoration of urban waters through community engagement and outreach, water quality monitoring and studies, and environmental education and training. Read More

NTSB Regulations Review is accepting comments through August 27.

NTSB regulations review is being undertaken to determine whether any should be modified, streamlined, expanded, or repealed to make them more effective and less burdensome. This is being done to comply with executive order encouraging independent Federal agencies to review rules that have significant economic impact, and Board encourages public to submit comments in response to this Request for Information. Thruster Tests Completed for NASA partner Boeing's crew capsule.

Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne successfully completed tests on thruster for Boeing's CST-100 Commercial Space Transportation spacecraft. Boeing is one of several companies working to develop crew transportation capabilities under Commercial Crew Development Round 2 agreement with NASA's Commercial Crew Program. NASA Commercial Crew Program Manager Ed Mango praised Boeing and Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne, saying they "know what it takes to develop safe systems and subsystems." Read More

American Bar Association (ABA) Law Practice Management Section (LPMS) announced publication of 16 e-books for lawyers, available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. These include iPad Apps in One Hour for Lawyers, authored by Tom Mighell, Chair of ABA LPMS. Other books address topics as apps for lawyers such as cloud computing, social media, legal technology, networking and careers, law firm marketing, legal writing, information security, and other issues facing legal profession. NIBS buildingSMART alliance(TM) has opened draft guide on Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie) standard for industry review until Oct 2, 2012. Standard identifies minimum requirements for what digital data should be collected during design and construction, so that information is available later to manage assets throughout life of building. Once updated and finalized, based on consensus feedback, COBie Guide will be submitted as best practice ballot to NBIMS Version 3. Read More

ASTM Committee supports radiation processing industry.

ASTM Subcommittee E10.01 on Radiation Processing: Dosimetry and Applications has been reorganized as ASTM Committee E61 on Radiation Processing. New main committee will revise and maintain existing Subcommittee E10.01 standards as well as develop new standards that cover entire irradiation process, from dosimetry selection to analysis of routine processing results.
