ASTM Symposium to address pesticide formulation and delivery.

Scheduled for Oct 22–24, 34th Symposium on Pesticide Formulation and Delivery Systems: Translating Basic Science into Products, is based on concept that the foundation of innovative products comes from basic science or ideas. ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products recognized outstanding contributions of Sofya Solodkin, quality manager at Ausenco in Vancouver, British Columbia, with Kenneth J. Boedecker Jr. Distinguished Service Award. ASTM International member since 1995, Solodkin received 15 Year Service Award from Committee A05 in 2012, is registered professional engineer, and has 20+ years experience in materials and industrial engineering and quality systems development. AAMA updates specification for self adhering flashing.

August 5, 2013

AAMA 711-13 establishes minimum performance requirements for self adhering flashing surrounding exterior wall fenestration products. Specification provides method to determine minimum width of flashing products and to evaluate influence of environmental factors on installation of products applied under typical field conditions. Most significant change made to AAMA 711 was addition of modified version of ASTM G155 Xenon Arc Test as alternative to ASTM G154 for accelerated weatherability testing. Read More

IPC releases PCB industry results for June 2013.

According to IPC's monthly North American Printed Circuit Board Statistical Program, total North American PCB shipments decreased 3.4% in June 2013 from June 2012, and bookings decreased 6.1% year over year. Year to date, PCB industry shipments were down 4.7% and bookings were down 1.3%. Compared to previous month, PCB shipments in June were up by 12.0%, but bookings were down 3.6%. Shipments outpaced bookings in June for first time in 7 months, causing PCB book-to-bill ratio to slip to 1.05. Read More
