Settlement Mandates Fine and Action from Trans Energy Inc. in WV.

Via its settlement with U.S. EPA, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP), and Department of Justice, Trans Energy, Inc. will restore portions of streams and wetlands at 15 sites in West Virginia polluted by unauthorized discharge of dredge or fill material. Trans Energy will pay $3 million penalty, to be divided equally between federal government and WVDEP, and also implement program to ensure future compliance with Section 404 of Clean Water Act and applicable state law. MESA International Awards recognize 4 outstanding contributors.

Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) International announced Darren Riley (Apriso), Mike James (ATS), John Southcott (Brock Solutions) and David Frede (GE Intelligent Platforms) as winners of its 2014 Outstanding Contribution to MESA awards. According to MESA International president Mike Yost, "These four volunteers exemplify what it takes to move a community forward for the benefit of all" and commended their time and expertise. PTDA recently welcomed 7 new member companies. Distributor members include Creswell Richardson of Chattanooga, TN and Powerhouse Industrial Supply Inc. of Springdale, AR. Manufacturers include Berliss Bearing Co. of Livingston, NJ; Donghua USA Inc. of Glendale Heights, IL; and Radicon USA of Elk Grove Village, IL. U.S. settles with Costco to cut emissions nationwide.

September 8, 2014

Costco Wholesale Corporation, the nation’s second largest retailer, has agreed to cut emissions of ozone-depleting and greenhouse gas chemicals from refrigeration equipment at more than half of its stores nationwide. In settlement announced by U.S. EPA and DOJ, Costco will pay $335,000 in penalties for federal Clean Air Act violations and improve refrigerant management at 274 stores at an estimated cost of $2 million over the next 3 years. AEM/AEMP Draft Telematics API Standard provides end-users with more OEM equipment data and more convenient access, which allows them to better manage and analyze information across fleets. Standard expands original AEMP Telematics Standard to include 19 data fields (with fault code capability). Data is accessed via Application Programming Interface with standardized server-to-server communication protocols.
