Announcing the launch of the new NIR SWIR Spectroscopy applications brochure
Belfast, Northern Ireland, Andor Technology, an Oxford Instruments company and a world leader in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, today announced the launch of a new brochure bringing together a selection of Andor’s spectroscopy users’ cutting-edge applications in the Near Infrared (NIR) and Short Wave Infrared (SWIR).
Spectral diagnosis in the NIR or SWIR is of increasing importance in scenarios involving, for example, non-invasive probing into biological samples (e.g. cancer screening), development of novel medical diagnosis methodologies and systems, characterisation of novel NIR biomarkers (e.g quantum dots), or studies of graphene and carbon nanotubes. This brochure features ‘real-life’ scenarios where Andor’s high sensitivity CCDs, InGaAs detectors and high throughput, high resolution spectrographs helped researchers to overcome the photon collection challenges associated with their typically low light applications.
It also presents Andor’s latest iDus 416 Thermo-Electrically (TE) cooled CCD with Low Dark Current Deep-Depletion (LDC-DD) technology, which offers unmatched detection in the NIR without the inconvenient use of liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling.
