IAI - DVT Sensor/Vision Interface
Intelligent Actuator Inc (IAI) controllers of various types can interface with vision systems through serial communications. This white paper describes the successful interfacing of IAI controller with the DVT system in detail. It provides information on configuring of products on the DVT, information package based on serial communications between the IAI and DVT, math conversion, and the finishing touches once the vision data has made its way into the IAI controller. The report discusses the technicalities of IAI - DVT interface alogn with its three options of the communicating system including selnet program, RS232C 2 channel option, and the teach port - with the IAI. Sample demonstration of a medium difficulty vision application interfacing a DVT system with a SCARA robot of IAI and a table displaying each cable type pinout is also presented in the report.
