Consistent Traceability of PCBs Guaranteed with Data Matrix Symbols
This paper describes how Quadrus® MINI imager from the company, Microscan, helped in tracing purposes and in reading the Data Matrix of modular electronic PCBs, which are manufactured by Zollner Elektronik. A brief overview of the requirements of 2D reader is provided, stating how reader's mounting size allowed it to integrate into the Twister Adapter system without impending the handling of the test specimens when inserted. It also highlights the usage of a second Quadrus MINI, which is mounted with a 90° mirror in a reject component gate to verify and provide code confirmation of the rejected assemblies.
