The problems related to supplier-applied bar code quality faced by a New York City-based footwear retailer and subsequent need to improve read rates on the parcel stream is covered in this white paper. The challenges which involved devising a solution, including the replacment of the older camera scanners used to read bar code labels and need for a no-reads capturing method is evaluated, and the choice of AV40002.0 camera technology and AccuVision® VisionCapture(TM) system with image depot server (IDS) to resolve the issue is also analyzed.
