At RAPID 2013 in Pittsburgh, Pa., IMT Machining Journal's Brian Lane spoke with Greg Morris, head of strategy and business development for additive technologies at GE Aviation. On Tuesday, June 11, GE announced the 3D Printing Design Quest and the 3D Printing Production Quest, challenges to the maker community to help GE develop new tools for using additive manufacturing (AM). Morris spoke about GE's mission to pursue collaborative techniques in the development of AM, and also gave his thoughts about the future of AM in aviation.
Additionally, Tim Caffrey, associate consultant for Wohlers Associates, spoke with IMT Machining Journal about the recently released The Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing State of the Industry report (which we covered here), and the future of AM.
