Jan 12, 2012

Presented by the Carbon War Room, along with the Gigaton Throwdown and the World Climate Summit, the Gigaton Awards honor businesses that inspire gigaton-scale change by making measurable carbon reductions and taking quantifiable steps toward sustainability. Awards are given across five sectors: Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Telecommunications, Industrials, and Utilities.

Schneider Electric received the Gigaton Award for 'Outstanding Business Leadership in Action' in the Industrial category for its outstanding efforts to shrink carbon usage. Their solutions focus on two key areas for addressing this challenge - in addition to offering products, systems, and services that promote energy efficiency, their solutions put emphasis on improving the energy infrastructure through the use of environmental friendly installations, achieved through a range of solutions developed to advance the "Smart Grid."

Other recipients of Gigaton Award winners include:

Consumer Discretionary
