John Deere Unveils Z-Trak(TM) Pro 800 Series

Customer input influences greater efficiency, dependability and operator comfort

(CARY, N.C.) - In a business where time is money, John Deere has designed a new line of zero-turn-radius mowers that will maximize both for the professional landscape contractor. With a design directly influenced by customer feedback, the new Z-Trak(TM) Pro 800 Series delivers a new level of quality, productivity and operator comfort.

"These machines are truly built to exceed customer expectations because they are based on customer input," said Chase Tew, John Deere commercial segment planning manager. "With the new Z-Trak Pro lineup, landscape professionals can rely on increased up-time, cover more acres faster and achieve a higher quality of cut."

The new Z-Trak Pro 800 Series includes five models with a variety of deck sizes. For economy and efficiency, four models feature an air-cooled, Kawasaki engine, while the Z840A features a liquid-cooled engine. A new 31-hp Kawasaki engine option delivers 14 percent larger displacement and a 40 percent larger hydraulic pump, which translates to a faster mowing speed of up to 12 mph.

The legendary 7-Iron(TM) Pro deck now features full-wrap reinforcement and double-captured anti-scalp wheels to get through the toughest terrain. That durability is enforced with the I-beam constructed cast iron caster arms, cast iron front caster forks and no-flat front caster tires.

Additionally, the Mulch-on-Demand(TM) Deck, which allows operators to switch from side discharge to true mulching at the flip of a lever, is available as a factory-installed option on three models. To give customers more choices, John Deere has expanded its Mulch-on Demand Deck offerings to include widths of 48-, 54-, and 60-inches.

"These mowers also feature a less complex design for increased dependability," says Tew. "We reduced the number of moving parts in the hydraulic system by two-thirds and eliminated 50 percent of the electrical switches. By changing over to a vertical shaft engine, we also removed 41 parts from the mower deck and drive system."

The Z-Trak Pro 800 Series makes it easy for customers to get their work done quickly and comfortably, with features like one-tool belt removal, adjustable control levers and push-button or foot-activated deck lift. Each model also features easy tracking adjustments, increased visibility and more fuel tank capacity at 11.5 gallons.

The Z-Trak Pro 800 Series lineup will be available at John Deere Dealerships in early spring 2008.
