TORONTO — Fowler Products, powered by Pro Mach, the new exclusive distributor of Zalkin capping solutions in Canada, and Canadian sales agent for Fowler Products/Zalkin Alex E. Jones Associates are showcasing a comprehensive range of Zalkin capping solutions during PACKEX, June 16-18, at the Toronto Congress Centre. Zalkin, with facilities in Montreuil L'Argilleì and Rueil-Malmaison, France, is recognized as one of the world's premier capping machine suppliers in terms of technology innovation, range of solutions, customer focus, and quality. (Alex E. Jones & Associates Booth #1513)

Highlighted Zalkin capping heads on display at PACKEX include:

• New H6 hysteresis screw capping head with quick release chuck for 28 mm 1881 double seal, super shorty screw closure

• VS110 for Amcor StelvinLux capping head with quick release coupling

• BH5 magnetic screw capping head with quick release chuck for 38mm VHS Silgan cap

• Type 97 Stainless steel ROPP Sealing Head

• Brushless head with chuck set up for pump placement

In addition, Fowler's new regional Canadian sales manager Tucker Scofield and Alex E. Jones personnel will discuss with attendees Zalkin rotary chuck style cappers that are ideally suited to the pharmaceutical industry. Zalkin has extensive experience in running two-piece child resistant, as well as non-continuous thread, and snap-cap closures. These cappers feature a state-of-the-art pick-and-place method of cap handling.

Application torque is accurately and repeatedly controlled either through the use of magnetic clutches or servo motor capping heads. Zalkin servo capping heads in pharmaceutical applications provide on-line torque measurement for each cap applied and the inspection/rejection system detects and positively rejects all bottles with missing caps, high caps, cocked caps, high/low torque, and missing foil defects. Fowler Products is well versed in the validation requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and can provide services for Health Canada and FDA installation qualification (IQ), operation qualification (OQ), and FAT validation and verification documentation.

Zalkin is one of the world's leading capping machinery manufacturers and produces machines that address the three major categories of cap applications – screw cappers, press/push-on cappers, and roll-on cappers. Every capping machine Zalkin builds is designed to meet the specific requirements of each individual buyer, accommodating the wide variety of bottle shapes, closures types, and operating speeds for that application and operating environment.

As Zalkin's exclusive distributor in Canada, Fowler Products provides Canadian customers with such services as electrical control panel design and manufacture to CSA and c-UL standards, design and manufacture of bottle handling equipment, manufacture of Fowler-designed Bulk Cap Feeding Systems and Waterfall Sorters, project management services, equipment integration and factory acceptance testing, machinery installation, equipment training and start up, technical support for Zalkin systems, and supply of replacement parts.

In terms of factory acceptance testing, Fowler Products supports customers with extensive services at its Athens, Georgia, facility. These services provide thorough testing of the capping machines as well as complete integrated bottle unscrambling, cleaning, filling, and capping systems.

"Zalkin was acquired by Pro Mach in early 2014, making us a sister company to Fowler Products, our exclusive U.S. and Caribbean distributor since 1970," said Michel Marion, President of Zalkin. "Given Fowler's expertise, it made sense to name the company our exclusive distributor in Canada. Fowler Products brings to Canadian customers a larger technical support team than ever available before, larger multi-million dollar replacement parts inventory, an exceptional factory acceptance testing facility with full system integration capabilities, PMMI-certified trainers, and extensive knowledge in electrical panel building and machine interface setup."
