Xtel Communications Adds Full Suite of Ethernet Services

Businesses Now Have Greater Potential for Computing Muscle

MARLTON, N.J. - Xtel Communications announced today that it is now offering full Ethernet services to its customers.

"This will allow our wholesalers to offer the benefits of Ethernet services to their clientele, expanding their own brand, and will provide them with a new revenue stream," said Brian Flynn, vice president of Marlton, N.J.-based Xtel Communications.

Ethernet services have proven to be a viable and necessary option for businesses who require performance, reliability and scalability from their Internet connection, according to Flynn.

One common but overlooked benefit of Ethernet services is the cost effectiveness that helps everyone's bottom line, he said.

Most Ethernet interfaces are generally inexpensive, and often the expense for operating them is lower because equipment, service and operational costs are far more modest, Flynn explained. "Customers can also increase their bandwidth incrementally," Flynn said. "This is a tremendous benefit to companies because they can now pay for what they need and yet can easily increase their bandwidth as they grow."

Xtel leverages its dense network footprint to provide Ethernet over Copper (Eoc), Ethernet over Sonet (EoS), and Metro Ethernet services in the Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., markets. Ethernet services compliments Xtel's other well established services, which include VoIP, SIP Trunks and traditional Voice services.

"Due to its vast network, Xtel is positioned to accommodate the growing demand for Ethernet services from wholesale customers," Flynn said. "Today, wholesale customers, and their customers, require more bandwidth than a DS1 or DS3 can feasibly provide, and more reliability and networking options than cable or residential fiber connections can provide. Ethernet fills this need nicely."
