Xsilva Systems to Demonstrate at NRF That Mobile Point of Sale Is Accessible to Retailers of All Sizes

MONTREAL - For the second year in a row, Xsilva Systems, which makes a comprehensive suite of retail tools tailored to the Mac platform under its LightSpeed brand, will be participating in the National Retail Federation's 100th annual convention and exhibition, The BIG Show, taking place in New York City from January 10-11.

At this year's conference, Xsilva will be showcasing the latest addition to its platform, a fully integrated mobile Point of Sale (POS) system called LightSpeed Mobile. With LightSpeed Mobile, Xsilva offers retailers the ability to eliminate impersonal cash register line-ups and instead complete transactions on the retail floor using the same hardware as Apple does in its own retail stores.

Building on its success at last year's show, where the company was the first to present a Mac-based POS, Xsilva will prove to the retail industry that the hottest retail technology doesn't have to come with the million dollar price tag some large retail chains have spent to go mobile. With LightSpeed Mobile, even small retailers can afford to deploy the very latest in retail technology using an iPod touch or iPhone.

In addition to LightSpeed Mobile, Xsilva will be showcasing the major upgrades made to both its core platform and its e-commerce extension since last year's NRF.

LightSpeed combines a POS for front-counter retail with back-office functions such as inventory management, purchasing, order processing and reporting. The latest release features a Point of Sale user interface that tightly integrates LightSpeed Mobile workflows, allowing transactions initiated on a mobile unit to be completed at a Mac station equipped with a cash drawer, receipt printer or external payment processing hardware. It also includes features for multi-store retailers and support for Xsilva's e-commerce solution, Web Store.

"We are following up our initial appearance at last year's NRF with fantastic news for retailers who think that mobile POS is out of reach," said Dax Dasilva, founder and CEO of Xsilva Systems. "With LightSpeed Mobile, we've brought to market an enterprise-grade solution, at a fraction of the cost. This is an extension of the core platform, which itself has seen significant improvements since last year's NRF.

"Because Xsilva employs a reseller channel strategy, we are looking forward to not only meeting with retailers themselves, but also potential channel partners," Dasilva continued. "As Apple technology continues to gain traction in the enterprise, we look forward to discussing the exciting new revenue possibilities that this represents for our potential partners."

Interested parties can visit Xsilva on the exhibition floor at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (Halls 3A-3E, 655 West 34(th) Street, New York) in booth 2073. The show floor is open on Monday, January 10, from 9am to 6:30pm, and Tuesday, January 11, from 9am to 5pm.
