The Eos Awards are decided and bestowed by NXTComm, the telecom industry's leading trade show, which begins on Monday June 18th at McCormick Hall in Chicago. The Eos Awards honor those companies that have developed the most promising new technologies or provided the best new network services and strategic support. XO Communications will be recognized along with other award recipients during a special reception on Wednesday, June 20th.

XO Communications is a recognized leader and innovator in network solutions to meet the bandwidth and communications service requirements of businesses and large enterprises, cable companies, content providers, telecommunications carriers, and wireless service providers.

Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN) provided XO Communications with an Infinera Digital Optical Network based on the Infinera DTN system. Based on Infinera's own large-scale photonic integrated circuits, the Infinera DTN combines highly scalable bandwidth, integrated digital switching, and GMPLS-powered service intelligence in a single platform, and is designed to simplify operations and deliver a dramatic improvement in the speed of installation and deployment of new services.

"XO Communications' inter-city network demonstrates the best in technical innovation and customer service-a powerful and winning combination worthy of an Eos Award," John Salak, chairman of the Eos Judging Committee, and president of The Salak Group, Inc.
