VMware Certified With Xiotech's Magnitude 3D Network Storage Solutions
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., March 3 / -- Xiotech(R) Corporation today announced that it has certified VMware(TM) ESX Server(TM) for use with its Magnitude 3D(R) family of network storage systems. This certification will provide midtier enterprises with the ability to take full advantage of VMware ESX Server's virtual software infrastructure on Xiotech's Magnitude 3D storage area network (SAN) systems.
The combination of Magnitude 3D storage systems with VMware ESX Server enables midsized enterprises to easily and affordably deploy a fully virtualized storage and server environment. With the combined system, midsized enterprises can take full advantage of Magnitude 3D tiered storage by enabling it to be easily accessed by multiple virtual servers. The Magnitude 3D family fully supports the boot-from-the-SAN feature of VMware ESX Server and simplifies deployments and management of VMware ESX Server.

VMware ESX Server 2.5 currently is certified with Magnitude 3D 1000e, 1000s, 3000e and 3000s systems. VMware ESX Server 3.0 is expected to become available in the second quarter of 2006, and Xiotech plans on fully supporting VMware ESX Server 3.0 shortly after it becomes available.
