Xilinx and Calsoft Labs to Jointly Present High Performance NFV Solution at the 2014 Carrier Network Virtualization Event

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced it will present, together with Calsoft Labs, a high performance Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solution at the 2014 Carrier Network Virtualization Event. The joint presentation will highlight the performance of Calsoft Labs' Cloud VPN Gateway and Virtual CPE frameworks by leveraging Xilinx FPGA offload capabilities, enabling rapid acceleration of NFV applications. To learn more, visit the Calsoft Labs stand, December 10-11, 2014 at the Carrier Network Virtualization event in Palo Alto, California.

The presentation will also address challenges faced by telecom operators looking to reduce CAPEX and OPEX in NFV applications while leveraging COTS hardware and accelerating development and deployment of new, revenue generating services. Furthermore, it will highlight FPGA-based capabilities that enable rapid acceleration of NFV applications by offloading CPU intensive tasks such as packet classification and crypto functions to the onboard FPGA. This solution enables savings of up to 60% in CPU cycles and a 2.5X increase in NFV throughput without additional server hardware.
