Xenos Announces Support for PDF/A Output Generation

TORONTO, Sept. 19 /-- Xenos, a leading provider of solutions that capture, transform, transport and present electronic data and documents, today announced its high-performance print stream repurposing software, Xenos d2e(TM) Vision, now supports the generation of PDF/Archive (PDF/A) documents.
PDF/A is expected to become the standard PDF archiving format. The standard's objective is to ensure long-term preservation and reproduction of files archived in this format. The format was approved by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) in September 2005 after being developed and submitted by AIIM International (The Enterprise Content Management Association) and NPES (The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing, and Converting Technologies).

In France, for example, this release is especially timely, given the mandatory requirements of Article 103 of the finance law of 1990 and Article 14 of the CRBF 97/02 requiring that all credit institutions archiving PDF documents must store their documents in PDF/A format by the beginning of 2007."
