Pharox LED Light Bulb Shines as the Most Innovative Technologic Breakthrough This Earth Day

SAN FRANCISCO, April 6 /-- In the 40 years since Earth Day was first observed, we've seen a series of products and services bring energy-saving alternatives to households around the world. From the catalytic converter, to nationwide recycling programs, to energy-saving functions in home appliances, these innovative, eco-friendly advances have enabled each of us to conserve precious natural resources and protect our planet. The latest milestone in this series is the Pharox LED light bulb from Lemnis Lighting.

The Pharox LED bulb produces a warm glow equivalent to that of a 40Watt incandescent bulb, but uses only 5Watts of energy. The Pharox bulb is compatible with standard fittings and has a stylish design that looks more like a traditional incandescent bulb, yet is 90 percent more energy efficient and lasts 50 times longer.

The Pharox was developed using the most advanced lighting technology available. The result? A bulb that lasts up to 50,000 hours or approximately 35 years!

"When we as individuals take even one small step toward reducing our carbon footprints, the collective positive impact on the environment is extremely significant," said Frans Otten, chairman of Lemnis Lighting. "Lighting accounts for up to 20 percent of our global energy consumption. This Earth Day, if every American household switched four 40W light bulbs to Pharox LED bulbs, the United States would save $113 billion in energy costs over the lifetime of the Pharox bulbs."

Many experts once touted CFL bulbs as the most energy-efficient lighting solution available, but times have changed. We now know that CFL bulbs contain harmful levels of mercury making them difficult to recycle and dispose of. Pharox LED bulbs are not only completely recyclable and 100 percent mercury-free, they also last eight times longer than CFLs.

Looking for a simple yet effective way to reduce your carbon footprint this Earth Day? Try switching out just one traditional incandescent or CFL light bulb in your home or office with a Pharox LED light bulb from Lemnis Lighting.

The Pharox bulb from Lemnis Lighting is currently available at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/).
