High Performance Sto Coatings Now Meet California Low VOC Standards
Key group of popular Sto coatings ready to work in California
ATLANTA - (October 6, 2008) Sto Corp., the innovative world leader in cladding, coating, and restoration systems, has announced that the majority of its coatings line of building products has been adjusted to meet the new low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) regulations that went into effect in southern California on July 1
"While our coatings have always met EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, the VOC level will now meet the most stringent requirement in the United States, the SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) Rule 1113,?" said Jeff Turner, R & D Project Manager at Sto Corp.
The adjustments to these coatings products also fit with Sto Corp.'s upcoming implementation of our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. By lowering the VOC in our products to meet the strictest standards in the country, we continue our commitment to being an environmentally conscientious company.
Specifically, the affected Sto products are:
o Sto Metallic Coating - a high gloss, water-based, acrylic coating with metallic sparkle. For use over sound concrete, masonry, or plaster/stucco surfaces for accents or details.
o StoCoat Acryl - an acrylic based interior and exterior coating used over prepared concrete, masonry, plaster/ stucco and acrylic textured coatings.
o StoCoat Color - an acrylic-based interior and exterior wall coating used over prepared concrete, masonry, plaster/stucco and acrylic textured coatings.
o StoTique - an exterior and interior coating that can be applied over any Sto finish achieving an antiqued or mottled appearance.
o Stolastic Sand - an elastomeric, acrylic based, decorative coating that weatherproofs and bridges hairline cracks. Use it for protecting prepared vertical concrete, stucco, EIFS, masonry, or previously acrylic coated smooth/textured surfaces.

o StoSilco Lastic - an elastomeric, silicone-emulsion, decorative coating. It is weatherproof, dirt-resistant, and mildew-resistant; and bridges hairline cracks. Use it for protecting vertical concrete, stucco, EIFS, masonry, or previously acrylic-coated smooth/textured surfaces
o StoSilco Shield a silicone enhanced smooth wall coating. It is used over prepared concrete, masonry, plaster/stucco, and EIFS finishes as a decorative and protective coating.
o Sto Concrete Coating Smooth - an acrylic-based interior and exterior coating. This product is designed to perform as a block filler/primer in exterior or interior applications.
o StoCoat Acryl Plus - an acrylic-based coating that protects against weather, salts and environmental pollutants. Use it for protecting vertical or horizontal concrete, stucco, EIFS, masonry, or previously acrylic coated surfaces.
o StoCoat Acryl Medium - an acrylic-based protective finish. Use it over horizontal concrete surfaces exposed to pedestrian traffic, such as balconies, decks and walkways.
o Sto Hot Prime - used as a vertical above grade interior or exterior primer over properly prepared and cured concrete, stucco, and concrete masonry walls.
o Sto Plex W - a water-based surface conditioner used for restoring absorptive or chalking vertical concrete masonry, or stucco wall surfaces.
