Expanded Line of Miniature Photoelectric Sensors
New Sense Modes and Beam Shapes Broaden Possible Industrial Applications
Southington, Conn. -- March 19, 2008... Baumer Ltd. has expanded its existing line of Series 10 miniature photoelectric sensors to include three compact new models for use in industrial equipment and machinery with limited space. Designed to detect the presence of an object, the expanded sensor family now includes a model with fixed range background suppression sense mode, a plastic fiber optic amplifier version, and a laser sensor featuring either line beam or spot beam light sources.
The FHDK10 Fixed Range Background Suppression Sensor is available with fixed 30 mm, 50 mm, or 80 mm sensing ranges. True background suppression eliminates signal interference related to background reflection and target color. This sensor is ideal for applications that require a simple, non-adjustable sensor.
The new OHDK10 Laser Sensor is available with two optional beam shapes. Designed for small parts detection, the OHDK10 Spot Beam Sensor features a spot-shaped laser light source available in 0.1 mm, 2 mm, or 4mm diameters. The OHDK10 Line Beam Sensor features a line beam that detects objects with milled grooves or drilled holes such as printed circuit boards. The line sensor can also be used for edge detection on printing webs.
The third new design, the FVDK10 Fiber Optic Sensor is an amplifier for plastic fiber optic cables. The sensor can be used with standard 2.2 mm plastic fiber optic cables and is designed for applications where traditional sensors cannot be mounted close to a target.
All the new Series 10 sensors feature a slim housing measuring just 10 x 30 x 15 mm, and a visible red light source for easy alignment. Both cable and M8 connector versions are available. The latest Series 10 sensors are ideal for detecting clear objects, small parts, and web edges in a range of industrial machinery applications.
