F.O.X. X-ray Inspection System Now Available with 24 Inch x 24 Inch Sample Area

Stamford, Connecticut - The F.O.X. X-ray Inspection System from FEINFOCUS is now available with a 24" x 24" (610mm x 610mm) tray area to accommodate larger samples. The system provides a complete scan of the sample tray area with precise six-axes control, including x/y/z-axis and sophisticated oblique angle viewing with +/- 45º tilt. The new F.O.X. system is ideal for real-time inspection of large PCBs for the electronics assembly market.

The F.O.X. system was the first nanofocus X-ray inspection system in the industry, providing XY feature recognition of 300nm (0.3 microns) and the smallest focal spot size in the industry (less than 1µm). This precision is combined with a wide dynamic range of manipulation speed settings from 10µm/second to 80mm/second. The result is an extremely versatile system with both highly accurate measurement and high speed sample repositioning. The geometric magnification is up to 2400x (total magnification
up to 7200x).

An important feature of the system is its proprietary FEINFOCUS TXI (True X-ray Intensity) Control Technology, which constantly controls the output level of X-ray intensity during the image acquisition process, guaranteeing stable and permanent image quality time after time. The F.O.X. system is also available with either a standard microfocus X-ray tube, or the new MFT multifocus X-ray tube, which provides microfocus, nanofocus, and high power modes in one source.

The user-friendly, FIP-600 image processing system allows for automatic voiding calculations and BGA analysis. A six-axes CNC programmable, high-precision manipulator is also available.

FEINFOCUS, an ISO-certified company, is an award-winning global leader in high resolution X-ray inspection equipment. Pioneers of micro- and nanofocus X-ray inspection technology, the company developed the first patented "open" X-ray tube. FEINFOCUS offers not only X-ray sources and complete, radiation-shielded X-ray equipment, but also offers full in-house failure analysis and component defect detection services, technical service systems, and preventative maintenance for both FEINFOCUS and third-party systems.
