WP 100 Wraparound Case Packer... Proves Bigger is not Necessarily Better
(April 9, 2003 - Reedley, CA) - Initially developed for the dairy and tapered cup industry, SWF Companies' compact WP 100 accumulates, sorts and wraparound case packs everything from tapered cups and tubs to cans, jars and cartons, gently and smoothly, sealing inside or out, top or side at speeds up to 30 cycles per minute.
Constructed of heavy-gauge structural (or stainless) steel, the WP 100 features welded joints for added durability and strength. The WP 100 is available in a mild steel construction for dry environments, a NEMA 4 wash down construction and a NEMA 4X corrosive wash down option, allowing for the maximum sanitation often required in the dairy industry.
Enhanced durability has been achieved without compromising the WP 100's small footprint. Compared to most other wraparound case packers on the market today, the WP 100 has one of the most compact designs available. In addition to other unique design features, the elimination of a horizontal/vertical compression section (found in most other wraparound case packers) allows the WP 100 to operate in even the tightest production environments.
SWF has also replaced conventional drive and gear boxes with dual servos allowing for greater ease of adjustment, smoother performance and greater reliability. The WP 100 also boasts a star wheel infeed mechanism instead of the standard swing arm mechanism. The star wheel assists with tapered containers by holding them positively, without squeezing and allows the container to be held by vacuum and released at its proper position very gently.
Gentleness is truly a virtue of the WP 100. In addition to the initial accumulation and handling of product, the WP 100 is exceptionally gentle in its packing. Compressing the corrugated case with no internal product support, yet achieving reliable hot melt bonding. This ensures a strong, stable pack with excellent vertical stacking strength.
