Original Press Release:

Johns Manville Micro-Flex Brings Flexibility, Durability To Large Diameter Pipe And Tank Wrap

DENVER, Colo., March 11, 2002 - New Micro-FlexT Pipe and Tank Wrap from Johns Manville provides contractors and distributors with a durable, flexible alternative for insulating large diameter pipes and tanks.

Micro-Flex insulation offers better durability and thermal performance because of its homogeneous, random fiber orientation and factory applied jacket. This means contractors easily can cut the product to size as well as cut it around protrusions, resulting in the highest quality installed product. The material's integrity and low thermal conductivity mean end users get the best available thermal insulation.

"Micro-Flex gives our distributors and contractors the highest quality pipe and tank wrap, and reinforces Johns Manville's commitment to the industrial sector," said Jan Nelson, market manager for Johns Manville Commercial Insulations. "Micro-Flex's innovative random fiber orientation presents a tremendous advance in the installed quality of pipe and tank insulation because of its performance, durability and ease of installation."

This new product is available with AP and FSK facings in thicknesses from 1-4 inches thick. It can be cut to the right shape and size, so distributors no longer need to carry large inventories, significantly reducing overhead costs. Further, JM's renowned support and customer service assure distributors of reliable supply and technical support for Micro-Flex.

Unlike some competing products, Micro-Flex is manufactured in the
United States and is available in both 48-inch and 36-inch widths. Rolls of Micro-Flex are bundled together and shrink-wrapped to reduce packaging waste and save space. Micro-Flex can be delivered in a mixed shipment with other JM products, reducing shipping costs and lead times. Larger quantities can also be shipped directly to the job site for faster delivery.
