Workstation Conveyor Accumulates Parts for Assembly
A new conveyor system featuring moveable in-line countertops which can be located above the belting to accumulate parts for assembly operations is being introduced by SmartMove® Conveyors of Fall River, Massachusetts.
The SmartMove® Workstation Conveyor features all-plastic belting with in-line countertops that fit over the belting to let workers accumulate parts, perform assembly operations, and then put them right back onto the moving conveyor. Eliminating the need for handcarts and transfer stations in many work cells, this workstation conveyor line is modular, expandable, and can handle loads up to 350 lbs. at fully adjustable speeds from 4 to 70 FPM.
Suitable for permanent and temporary assembly lines, the SmartMove® Workstation Conveyor employs a patented, variable speed drive which consumes only 90 Watts of power, 65% less power than conventional conveyors, and operates on 115 VAC. The snap-link, self-lubricating polypropylene belting is made by SmartMove® and requires no tensioning or tracking adjustments.
The SmartMove® Workstation Conveyor is priced according to belt width, overall length of the line, and is shipped ready to install by the user. Literature and a price list are available upon request.
