New Triangular Workholding System for Machining Centers Increases Tool Access

Bock Workholding (Ford City, PA) introduces the Bock TriSystem workholding system, a triangular, six-station workholding system which allows a greater range of tool access angles on horizontal machining centers and on vertical machining centers equipped with an indexer.

Four-sided systems, like Bock's own MonoQuad models, typically allow machining of eight parts on three sides by allowing tool access through 180°; the Bock TriSystem will allow tool access on six parts through as much as 240°.

Like its four sided couterpart the Bock TriSystem consists of a solid high-strength aluminum column with ground steel gliding surfaces, Bock's proven two-station clamping mechanism, and Bock's snap on quick change jaw system. The clamping mechanism has a built-in "third hand" to make part loading easier and more accurate, and the machinable jaws can be changed from one setup to the next in seconds.

The Bock TriSystem is available with a jaw width of 4" (100mm) and 6" (150mm), and base plates are custom manufactured to fit the customer's pallet or indexer systems.
