Minneapolis, Minnesota: Kurt announces introduction of the VB DockLock® zero-point workholding system designed to facilitate workholding setup changes in seconds. The VB DockLock system integrates with workholding devices such as Kurt vises, providing the fastest, most accurate and repeatable method for making setup changes on all types of horizontal and vertical machining centers.
No more time consuming vise and holding fixture alignment and bolt down tasks subject to operator error. Instead, the VB DockLock instantly positions and locks the vise or fixture in perfect alignment onto the machine worktable. It completely eliminates operator setup errors. Consisting of a patented hydraulic actuated locking cylinder, the system instantly aligns and locks the vise or fixture with a clamp down force of 2800 lbs per locking cylinder (12,500 Nm) and with a retention force of 9000 lbs per locking cylinder (40,000 Nm). Once in place, the workholding remains immobile. The uniquely designed collet connection dampens vibration tendencies in the workholding setup, an important design feature. When a change is needed, the VB DockLock disengages instantly and the workholding can be moved to another machining center or offline ready for re-introduction to a machining center.
