Samsung BCS Introduces IP-Centric Wireless LAN Solution; IP-Centric WAP Offers SMBs Advanced Features for Wireless Convergence

RICHARDSON, Texas, June 19 / / -- Samsung BCS has found a way to make small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) more productive by getting employees out from behind their desks. The company's new OfficeServ(TM) IP-centric Wireless LAN (WLAN) Solution gives employees the ability to access, create and share information from wherever they choose to work, whether at their desks or in the storeroom. This new solution for wireless convergence is distinguished by its IP-centric WLAN access point that supports both IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11b/g wireless technologies. The solution comprises the access point, Samsung's WIP-5000M Wireless IP handsets and a media gateway interface card.

Utilizing the Samsung IP-centric WLAN access point in their wireless LAN, SMBs can integrate wireless capabilities in their existing wired network systems, making the jump to wireless virtually painless. At the same time, as the business grows and the needs of the employees change, the company can simply migrate to a different Samsung platform while using its existing wireless handsets. That means the initial investment is protected as the company transitions to the latest technology.

"Companies can no longer keep their employees chained to their desks if they want them to be truly productive," said Steve Gobeli, vice president of Samsung Telecommunications America, Business Communication Systems Division. "SMBs are starting to recognize that there is more to consider than just delivering voice and data to the desk when investing in a communications system. With in-office wireless being such an advantage, the OfficeServ IP- centric Wireless Solution is a safe investment that allows companies to migrate to a wireless LAN without losing sleep and money in the process."

The OfficeServ IP-centric Wireless LAN Solution utilizes Samsung's popular WIP-5000M handsets that operate seamlessly between access points. This new solution is easily programmed and easy to install and maintain at peak performance levels.

The OfficeServ IP-centric Wireless LAN solution is available now through Samsung's dealer network.
