Stratex Networks Introduces Eclipse E300sp

Delivers Improved Price-Performance for Network Edge Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 17 / / -- Stratex Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:STXN), a leading provider of wireless transmission solutions, today announced initial shipments of the new Eclipse(TM) E300sp, designed to provide improved price and performance for low to medium capacity links in mobile and fixed wireless network edge applications.

"Network edge applications represent a large proportion of all wireless links deployed, where the required transmission capacity is growing but is still much less than the capability of our other Eclipse solutions," stated Shaun McFall, VP Marketing of Stratex Networks, Inc. "In January, 2006, we introduced the E300hp for high capacity applications. Now, with the new E300sp and our proven original Eclipse E300ep, we are now able to offer a complete range of solutions from cost-efficient standard performance, to high and extended performance, all with a common interface to our software driven nodes and indoor units."

The E300sp system is comprised of a new IDUsp Indoor Unit and ODU300sp outdoor unit. This combination takes advantage of improved technology to reduce the complexity of the RF portion of the system, while improving overall performance. The ODU300sp provides 'standard' radio frequency (RF) performance capability from 7 to 40 GHz, and in conjunction with IDUsp, supports up to 16xE1 using QPSK modulation. By utilizing a common interface, the ODU300sp also provides seamless integration and network compatibility with the existing Eclipse E300 platform. This allows it to be operated in conjunction with the Eclipse advanced wireless node and other Eclipse indoor units to support increased capacity up to 40xE1, or 80 Mbps for Ethernet data transport, using 16 QAM modulation
