Wireless Remote Monitoring Solution Expected to Significantly Impact Environmental Strategies

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Feb. 8 / -- Remote monitoring and control of water quality and wastewater management has taken a significant step forward with the release of VizAbility EM, parent company VizAbility LLC announced today.

"VizAbility EM is a new remote environmental monitoring solution for Water Quality and Waste Water Management," said Stacey Stewart, President of VizAbility LLC. "VizAbility EM is a comprehensive and powerful tool to monitor water quality in outlying areas and help ensure environmental compliance in wastewater treatment systems."

VizAbility EM provides users with global reach through satellite technology. The satellite-connected monitoring systems deliver information that in the past required personnel to travel to sites that are often miles away from central facilities. The new system has the potential to save hundreds of thousands of dollars for cash strapped state and municipal budgets.

Leveraging VizAbility's Technological Strengths
In addition to the ability to monitor water quality, VizAbility EM is designed to integrate with wastewater management systems by remotely monitoring all the key aspects of water plant lift station pumps, retention ponds, water towers, and other key components of water works infrastructure. Real time monitoring gives cities and municipalities the peace of mind that they will know about problems before they become huge issues that could entail home owner claims and EPA fines. It is also becoming increasingly important for cities and municipalities to monitor these Homeland Security "soft spots".

Coupling proprietary wireless technology with environmental testing equipment, VizAbilty is able to provide end users the ability to monitor environmental levels, alarms, and static controls in real time. "We also have the ability to offer watersheds and conservation programs our consulting and educational services in order for these entities to utilize their financial sources more effectively," said Stewart.

Timely Introduction
Gov. Tom Vilsack recently presented the Condition of State address to the 81st General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature. In his speech Gov. Vilsack said, "These efforts must be continued and expanded this year, with an additional $50 million dollar commitment to improve water quality."

The need for water quality is not usually debated; it is how to fund clean water initiatives that are usually hotly contested. But no matter who or how the efforts are funded, there exists an enormous need to continually monitor the quality of the water to ensure that the millions of dollars being spent on land and watershed improvements through practices and physical efforts are being spent wisely.

VizAbility EM is the wireless monitoring device that will fill this need and assist the state (DNR) and federal (EPA) as well as individual watersheds in assuring that their efforts are being validated with accurate and timely water quality results.
