Williams-Pyro, Inc. Launches AccuTag(TM) Vehicle Systems

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 6 -- Williams-Pyro, Inc. announces the launch of AccuTag(TM) Vehicle Systems, a wireless vehicle diagnostics and driver performance monitoring and reporting system that will enable fleet managers to improve operational efficiency and driver productivity while reducing total cost of fleet ownership. AccuTag consists of a diagnostics module and a desktop application. AccuTag also comes with optional GPS (Global Positioning System).

AccuTag easily installs on most vehicles built after 1996 with an OBD2 or J1708 diagnostic interface by simply connecting the module to the vehicle's diagnostic port. The module collects and stores vehicle diagnostic and driver performance data any time the vehicle is running. When the vehicle is within range of the user's wireless network access point, the module transmits the data to the AccuTag desktop application (requiring no monthly communication access fees).

The AccuTag desktop application allows fleet managers to view fleet diagnostic information, such as idle time, fault codes, driving speed, and miles driven (odometer). The maintenance reminder feature allows fleet managers to configure date or mileage-based maintenance reminders for such things as oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle inspections. The driver limits feature allows fleet managers to monitor driver performance by configuring limits for miles driven, excessive idling, speed, and hard braking & acceleration. With the addition of GPS, fleet managers have the ability to view a history of where their vehicles have been and location information for established limit violations.

Williams-Pyro's Vice President, Brent Williams, says AccuTag's value stems from two key features-its flexibility, and no recurring communication cost. Williams says, "We designed AccuTag to be easily customizable, providing fleet owners with the specific vehicle status and driver performance information they need, when they need it, preventing them from being buried in unusable data."
