Active Control introduces Quikmesh(TM), a New 'Plug-And-Play' Wireless Mesh Network System for the Security Industry

TORONTO, March 26 // -- Active Control Technology Inc. (TSX-V:ACT) today introduced QuikMesh(TM), a breakthrough in wireless data communications for the $1 billion security industry that reduces labour and material installation costs by up to 40 percent.

The new system provides the integrity, reliability and redundancy required for commercial security that previously could be fulfilled only with wired installations.

QuikMesh wirelessly links security peripheral devices such as card readers, biometric readers and parking gates with central computer panels that manage security systems. Ideal applications include interior environments such as office buildings and warehouses, and exterior high security complexes.

Utilizing "mesh" network technology with multiple wireless node modules, QuikMesh remains operational even if line-of-sight communication links are blocked or disrupted. The system offers the following features and benefits: plug-and-play capability, self-healing, highly-secure encryption, compatibility with most original equipment manufacturer (OEM) access control panels, and it is designed to meet global standards.

"QuikMesh has been designed with the guidance of our major OEM customers who provide us with both product and volume visibility. It is the ideal wireless solution for installations where added reliability and redundancy are essential," said Steve Barrett, President and CEO of ACT. "Because there is no need to install wires, the system also provides significant cost savings for retrofits of older buildings as well as new installations, and offers our customers a new competitive edge when bidding on projects."

QuikMesh is the first product to be introduced by ACT under its ActiveMesh(TM) family of products for the security industry.
