Laird Technologies' WLM400 802.11b/g Wireless LAN module brings a new level of performance to embedded designers wanting to take advantage of the high data rates available from Wi-Fi networks. It overcomes the compromises of other modules, where a choice has to be made between data throughput that requires a host processor or the simplicity of a module with embedded drivers and TCP/IP stack but invariably have a low throughput. The WLM400 solves this dilemma and offers the best of both worlds by utilizing a powerful ARM9 application processor to provide a streaming channel that can deliver in excess of 15Mbps real data throughput with a 54Mbps 802.11g link with minimal power consumption.
